What To Expect
On your first visit, you can expect to have a consultation with Dr. Loughridge about what's bothering you. You will be examined using tests specific for your problem. X-rays may be used if needed. The doctor will then talk to you about what was found and make treatment recommendations. If you're a candidate for chiropractic care, we can perform your first adjustment on this visit. Of course, we won't do anything without talking to you about it first and explaining what we're going to do.
In some cases, chiropractic care might not be the best course of action to help your problem. If you're not a candidate for chiropractic care, we will tell you and make recommendations for what type of doctor would most fit your needs.
About Chiropractic Care
What is it?
Chiropractic care focuses on properly aligning the body's structures — primarily the spine — to allow for natural, surgery-free healing. A chiropractor's goal is to discover the source of the pain and correct the problem. We feel that minimizing the use of drugs and further invasive procedures is important.
Why choose chiropractic?
It's safe, effective and conservative. Drugs can be dangerous and do little to correct the problem. Keeping your spine functioning properly not only gets rid of pain, but also ensures that your nervous system is protected and allowed to work without interference. The nerves that control your body run through your spine. Irritation to these nerves can lead to a host of problems covering nearly all bodily functions.
Is it safe?
Chiropractic treatments are incredibly safe — actually, they're one of the safest kinds of medical care available. And our chiropractors have studied extensively to fully understand the body's systems. The chiropractic training program is comparable to the program of study for medical doctors. According to the American Chiropractic Association, more than 30 million people visited Doctors of Chiropractic last year for a variety of conditions, and more and more medical doctors are referring their patients to doctors of chiropractic.
What problems can it address?
In addition to preventative and wellness care, chiropractic can be used to treat allergies, headaches, lower back pain, fibromyalgia, neck and shoulder pain, numbness, leg pain, scoliosis, and other health issues.
